Massage Modalities
Swedish
Focuses on muscle relaxation, targeting superficial muscles (rather than the connective tissues targeted in deep-tissue massage) and increasing blood circulation.
Deep Tissue
Used to break up scar tissue and muscle adhesions. The "knots" that we feel in our muscles are muscle adhesions, these knots can inhibit our circulation and cause pain and inflammation. Uses deeper pressure.
Sports
Helps to release and reduce tension in muscles, improve circulation and encourage the removal of waste products such as lactic acid during high intensity activity and can help relax the body. Stretching is also incorporated.
Corporate Chair
Office massage or corporate massage is massage provided for employees at their place of work. This can include both seated massage or table massage. Usually lasting 10-20 minutes each.
Lymphatic Drainage
Relieves swelling that happens when medical treatment or illness blocks your lymphatic system, using a gentle manipulation. Used for post-op as well.
Pregnancy
Also know as maternity massage, is essentially a Swedish massage tailored to the needs of a pregnant woman. Depending on how far along she is, she will lay on her side. Please speak to your doctor before booking.
